Taking the chance- travels to Colorado

Life throws some pretty strange curve balls at you sometimes. Whether it’s assembling a water slide on a cruise ship in the Bahamas for 12 days or living in the middle of nowhere- BC Canada for 2 months.

I often wonder is this my life? How the heck did those experiences really happen? Have I been this blessed to have those opportunities? Life is a beautiful thing when you embrace it as it comes and take the chance. It’s really that simple. One doesn’t need nor should want the fancy “dream life” that is coveted by all cause it will make you happy. In all reality that “dream life” isn’t all that humans crack it up to be. It’s not the big house, corporate job, fancy car, vacation home and parties every weekend. It’s the simple things that make life a dream. Living, cherishing every moment and opportunity as it flies at you. I am far from all those “coveted” things and my life blows me away day after day. The past 2 years of embracing each opportunity as life comes has proven to be more that a happy, joyous life. Each new chapter I’m lead to is exciting and different. I am so blessed. So what’s my new chapter?

Frisco Colorado; mountain town at 10,000 ft, full of adventure and undiscovered territory is my new chapter. Here for a whole month. Another random place my life happened to put me. Or is it random? I’m so excited to be here! A new place that I have wanted to be my whole life; Colorado.

Why am I here? Funny you should ask. Remember the water slide job in the Bahamas; well I met some fun people who worked on the job and in particular was a chill dude named Rob. We got along famously and talked all about his hometown in Colorado. Apparently I needed to meet his wife because we would get along great, but didn’t think that the opportunity would ever come. We also talked about this trip he had been planning for a long time. Him and his wife were going to go to Cosa Rica for a month in the spring and they needed a person to house and critter sit. I jumped right in, not thinking it would ever happen, “I’ll come to Colorado and watch the place”!

Three months later I got a text, “how are you? Hope all is great. We are going to Cosa Rica for the month of May and was curious if you wanted to watch the house?” Instantly my mind was spinning with ideas of how I could make that possible. I thought, as my Grampa would say “well why not? When else am I going to get this stellar opportunity to live in the mountains of Colorado for a month, no strings attached?” Then I can check out Colorado and see if it’s really a place I would like to hang my hat in the future.

The month of April zipped by and here I am, Frisco Colorado for a whole month. Incredibly excited to check out the town and surrounding areas. Meet some new people. Form a relationship with this wonderful state I have always dreamed of living in! And all because I took the opportunity at hand, first the water slide job to meet Rob then to house sit for a month. I’m excited about where life will lead me next!

Go where life leads you. Take the opportunity at hand or you’ll waste time wondering what it would have been like if you had taken the chance, that leap of faith. You have no idea of how it would turn out but what if you miss out on a chance of a lifetime?

Life is what you make of it. You can choose to go for your dreams or stay comfortably regretting the opportunities you didn’t take. I challenge you to go for it. Go for a life you have always wanted and never look back. Life is not promised to be easy nor ever will be. Will you live in regret, or in constant thankfulness that you embraced the opportunity life brought you?

Could the Cure to “incurable” disease be this simple?

Bernie Siegel, MD has insightful words to shed some light on what can be an extremely dark path.

He talks about how love and laughter build and hold our lives together. Love is like the bricks in which we build our lives on and the humor is like the mortar. This humor that doesn’t hurt or unset anyone. This is a child like humor that helps heal lives.

Laugh about nothing, laugh about everything, laugh so hard that you can’t breath and your abs fill with pain.

When I was a kid my cousin, sister and I would have what we called, laughing tea parties. We would use an incredibly small tea set. The tea cups held about 3 tablespoons of liquid and their handles were so small we could barely hold on to them. We would laugh so hard at the dumbest things! Holding the tea cup up and trying to take the smallest sip possible or trying to pour the tea and bring it to our mouths with out spilling. Of course laughing only magnified the spill and we would laugh even harder.

tea set

Soon the laughter became a snowball effect of everything we did at our tea party. We would laugh so hard tears would be squeezed out and our lungs would gasp for air. After the party our abs would be a ball of knots because of intense workout laughter was. I often wonder if this is why everyone thought I had a six-pack as a child? I’m convinced it was because of all the laughing that was had. Those tea parties where so filled with joy and unlike this “normal” world.

This world is so filled with pain and suffering. Why add to it? Why not help heal it? The majority of the world thinks that life is just not fair. It isn’t, it’s just difficult. Why don’t we make it easier for others and ourselves? Tell people h

ow you are really feeling and don’t cover it up. Let the true emotion come out and don’t lie to yourself. Allow that person to be a healer and help you.

Be a healer yourself and spread joy through humor and laughter. The world is a comedy if we allow it. Sometimes it’s a tragic one but he who laughs lasts.

“Remember it’s not healthy to be serious and normal. Trying to be normal is only for those who feel inadequate.” –Siegal

Be a carrier of JOY and spread the laughter, it’s contagious!

Is the cause of death in communication?

I often wonder where I would be if I had not stumbled upon IIN?windy road
  • Would I be suffering even more than when I had started back in September?
  • Would I have dug myself deep into a hole of pain and negativity?
  • Would have gotten cancer or some other disease at this very young age?
  • Would all the motivation and passion I had cultivated over the years completely diminish?

These are things that I firmly believe would have taken over my life. I am grateful everyday for the knowledge and insight that IIN has and is providing me.

This week we are going through the topics of emotional eating, love and communication.

It has been quite inspiring and makes you get down in the dirt and DIG deep.

  • Dig for feelings that you didn’t know where even there.
  • Dig down into your emotions, which can be a scary and painful thing.

I have learned that it is good to get look inside and find the real reason you are living on this earth.

  • Why are you here?
  • What is your purpose?
  • What is the reason you wake up everyday?
  • What will you do with this life of yours?

Bernie Siegel MD Believes that the key to life in all its forms it’s ability to communicate. Communicate with each other but more importantly communicate within our selves, our individual organs and cells.

Life begins with one celled organisms who learn communicate with chemistry and the environment in order to grow. Today these communications continue this marvelous dance and we ignore any dangerous mishap that may happen because of our low level of unconsciousness.

Think of Mondays and the simple fact that this day has higher mortality and suicide rates than other days of the week. We aren’t the wisest creatures. We don’t listen to our inner being. People hate Mondays and this feeling of hate impacts our very being.

Now think of the signals one receives while growing? How does touch, hug or caress impact the individual and the body’s signals? How does fear, despair and depression tell our bodies to respond to life? Every signal call is aware of these signals and our will to live.

The question is what messages are you giving to your body? Are they signals to create and enhance life and are not life threatening? I believe it is the thoughts that we allow into our brains that determine life or death. Inspiration feeds life while expiration kills. Just as we would say when someone dies, they expire.

Inspiration means breathing in and creating life. So what inspires you? People who find new meaning and become inspired can cure “incurable” diseases. They are not ready to expire because they are inspired to life, love and serve.

This inspiration goes into each and every cell of the body allowing it to come alive. The body, soul and mind now has purpose, a reason to live.

The significance is clear, give your body messages and signals related to your inspiration and will to live. You body will do the rest. Find your reason for living and get going now!

Remember these words are meant to help you enjoy life rather than avoid disease. Focus on life and disease will stay away. The people who wake early to jog, eat only organic vegetables, drink pure water and meditate still die. So do what feels right for you because it’s how the chemical messages communicate with your body though feelings not thoughts. Both feelings and the mind matter and when they work in synchronicity they are the healthiest unit.

Consciousness and matter unify and become one through the inspirational signals we provide. So get in touch with your body. -Bernie Siegel
